Humzoo on Facebook

We've been missing out. With the ever-growing network of people on Facebook it's just silly that we aren't on there spreading the word about Humzoo.

We've setup a group on Facebook for Humzoo and we'd like to invite you to join. We already have 47 members! We'll use the group to syndicate our Humzoo blogs, announcements and details about weekly photo contests to the Facebook community. By joining the group you'll get automatic updates and be the first to know when something happens on Humzoo (next to finding out on Humzoo first of course).

To join the Humzoo group, first login to Facebook, then visit:
http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=16064290940

We love Humzoo and want to see it grow. Please spread the word and invite your friends to the Humzoo group on Facebook.

1) Perhaps we should also have a Humzoo Twitter account too.

5) Bill, I have checked out Twitter and felt like it was a lot of work. Personally, maintaining a personal web site on Humzoo is about the right pace of information I want to keep up with. Plus, I figured people really don't care what I am eating right now or how many Jeopardy questions I got right.

For Humzoo though it may be different. We're trying to get better about letting people know what changes are being made and what features we're working on. Hence the Facebook group.

Thanks for the feedback.

7) Here I go again exposing my ignorance. I even have a Facebook ico on my Blackberry but I don't know how to use it. All I know is that its a better version of another social network but why or how does it work with Humzoo. I'm home "sick" today with a virus so I am spending too much time on the computer.

8) No offense to Facebook but I'm happy enough with Humzoo and don't need to spend any more time socially on the web and cut into my baking and Mac learning. Not to mention working on my certification for work. I'm sure people will enjoy the option. Like all things done for Humzoo--always for the good and fun!!

9) Linda, what kind of certification do you have to have for your job and how often do you have to renew it?

10) I have never had to have one, Dannie. In fact my company doesn't encourage certs at all which I think is a mistake--they would keep good people longer if they supported them more in training and advancement. I'm going for a certification for a Lotus Notes Administrator. It will look good on the resume and it will help me get back more deeply into it since my company is phasing it out and I'm getting very rusty at some of it. :)

Usually it lasts as long as you work on the version you get certified in--so you don't have to renew until there is a new version and you want to certify in that. I'm sure it varies with other apps and in other types of computer certifications.

11) Sounds time consuming.

12) Worth it if it gets me another job and one I'd prefer. My place where I am not is really limited and getting more technically limited as we keep changing and restructuring in the company. It's hard after 14 years to make that big of a change and start over but the ones who have have been happy with the change and I think I will too.

13) I hope you find the ideal job for you in the ideal location. At least you have the luxury, so far, to take your time to explore all the possible avenues.

14) I agree, Dannie, nothing to complain about except the waiting. I'm glad I have a job to wait WITH...even when I don't like it. :) Thanks for the good wishes!!

15) Thanks to everyone who has helped spread the word about the Humzoo Facebook group. In just a week's time we have almost tripled the members to a total of 74. WOOT!

Dannie/Linda - Facebook and Humzoo can co-exist very happily. In my mind they are very different. Humzoo offers web sites and a friendly community. Facebook is a social networking tool which allows you to keep in touch with friends and family. Facebook has a massive network of people and is a great way for us to keep in touch with current Humzoo members and invite new ones.

By no means feel obligated to sign up for a Facebook account. News and updates get posted on Humzoo first and foremost.

17) Just as long as you don't have to sell Dylan, Niki. :) Maybe I should go over there and see if anyone has a job for me. :)

Thanks for the info, Denny. I'm still keeping with Humzoo--that's enough web interaction for me now. :)
