Humzoo Turns 6 Months Old
It seems like just yesterday, but six months ago today Humzoo was born. It's very exciting to think about all that has happened in the past six months on Humzoo.
Since March 3rd, Humzoo has evolved into a community of bloggers, photographers and videographers that enjoy sharing their lives with others. Each person on Humzoo is unique in their own way. New friendships have developed, some people have actually met in person. We've all witnessed several exciting births on Humzoo. We even tracked someone's package! We've been interviewed and featured in several publications and the buzz overall seems very positive. We're very happy about that.
How could we forget the two awesome Humzoo Rad parties hosted in North Carolina and Illinois? There will be plenty more of those in the near future.
Charts and Graphs
We've accomplished a great deal in the six months the site has been public, and we're very proud of where the site is today. Charts and graphs say that we are growing. See for yourself.
Financially we're doing okay too. Currently the Humdinger memberships are floating the hosting and storage fees, and fortunately nothing has been paid out of our pockets. We hope that will continue and overtime the site will remain self-sufficient, because our pockets have holes.
Some New Things to Mention
We've been adding things and improving the site in the past couple weeks, but we haven't said much about it. For what it's worth, here is a list of subtle changes that you might have noticed:
- Added Blue Dots and commenting to the Mobile site
- Tags are now remembered from photo to photo as you upload new albums
- Improved text formatting and display on blogs
- More consistent video quality and download speeds
What Does the Future Hold?
A lot! We have plenty of new features we want to add and lots of improvements to the current set of features that we want to make. We always appreciate and welcome feature requests and feedback on the site.
Our mission hasn't changed much in the last 6 months, and that feels good to say. We still aim to create web sites that are easy to use and easy on the eyes. Some things to look for in the coming months are new themes, a grassroots marketing campaign, more Zootorials, a user-site face lift, grouping of related content, domain mapping, and much, much more.
Thank you to everyone who has supported us along the way. Without you, Humzoo would not be what it is today.

Keep the good work coming.
Great work guys. The best is yet to come for Humzoo, I believe.
Looking forward to seeing much more growth from here,
Dave, have you considered a line of merchandise with the Humzoo on it?
I have asked for some Humzoo patches and possibly a couple of window decals, and I was thiking that I may go over to a local t-shirt shop and have them make me a shirt with the Humzoo decal on front and back.
Humzoo has had a good kick off stage, and you don't owe any money which makes it even better.
Hard to believe it has been 6 mos. Seems like only yesterday I was getting sarcastic remarks from my nephew about the length of my first blog testing the site's ability to manage a LONG blog. How many stories have we shared, recipes, births, deaths, birthdays, anniversaries, life events together? Laughed, cried, vented, celebrated, cheered.
Great news about the iHoles being plugged (I love your joke, Niki!) and more great things to come. I keep trying to find things to complain about, but you keep fixing all the problems. So, I guess, instead, I'll just say congrats, thanks and happy birthday--Dave&Denny don't look a day over 7 mos (or act like it). :)
Happy 6th Month Birthday!!
