Mac Users . .

I'm hoping to find out what photo editing software all of the Mac users are using. On my PC, I use Corel Paint Shop Pro, but I learned that it isn't available on the Mac platform. I tried downloading Gimp over the weekend, but it wouldn't work for some reason. I even downloaded it directly from the Gimp website. I'm looking for something that would be $100 or under.

I highly recommend Lightroom. Version 2 is around $299 but I found the first version which has a ton of great features for $99 on this web site. http://www.journeyed.com/itemDetail.asp?ItmNo=20061036&... I have never purchased anything from them so I can't say much about their service.

You might also check out iPhoto which comes on your computer. It's free and has a lot to offer.

2) The Apple Store also does free training on iPhoto. I'm planning on attending a session. I've learned their free sessions show a lot of things that you might not discover on your own. I'm just starting with a Mac and iPhoto already does more than Windows ever did out of the box. I might check out that $99 Denny mentioned if I ever feel the need to do more. Right now I'm still learning the camera AND the Mac. Good luck!!

3) One other option to consider: many digital cameras, printers and scanners come bundled with a free version of Adobe Photoshop Elements. This should suffice for most people's needs. I personally use Adobe Lightroom and Adobe Photoshop.

7) Christi - Whenever I try to open it, an error comes up and says that it unexpectedly quits. Not sure why, but it is so annoying! I'd love for the free stuff to work!

9) Aperture. I added it as an option when ordering my Mac. It's pretty intense though, so if you're looking for light photo work, it may not be for you.
