The G1 Has Arrived
My new G1 phone arrived today. My vote was for the iPhone, but Jason wanted to try out the G1, so I agreed. We're already TMobile customers, which made that decision easy. And, they give us 14 days to make a final decision on the phones.
So, out of the box, I was feeling a little bummed out about it. Even up to the point of the first 5 minutes of playing with it. Now that I have some Applications downloaded and have played with a few features, I'm pretty excited about it.
Initial thoughts: The touch screen is not as sensitive as the iPhone. But, it is getting easier for me to do. I love the trackball feature on it! That makes navigating really easy. The screen will only turn in landscape when the keyboard is open. It is not nearly as cheap looking in person as it does in the pictures.
A couple of the Apps I've played with tonight . . . Shazam - so cool! I saw this one is on iPhone, too. I recommend it if you don't have it. Shop Savvy - you scan the barcode in of a product, and it pulls up the price. It will also compare other prices to see if something is a good deal. I like the Restaurant Search App, too. It pulls up all of the restaurants in a specific area and then gives recommendations.
