Midnight Movie

I am sitting here with two friends waiting for the Twilight Midnight Release. We got to the theatre at 9:45 and went right into the theater. There are about 1000 teenage girls here! Makes me feel old! But, I am having a good time with some friends. This is the 6th Midnight Release I have been to. I must say, if you have never done it, you should.

1) A one Mrs. Shoo was suppose to be out there tonight. Tickets are still printed out on the fridge. She bailed after a long week.

2) Tell Mrs. Shoo she needs to get over here asap. I am with two teachers and we will all be at school tomorrow!

3) She's in bed. As much as I'd love to run in and jump on the bed and wake her up, I am going to pass.

4) I've attended five midnight releases. They were the three Star Wars prequels, The Two Towers, and Return of the King. Not quite sure why I didn't see Fellowship of the Ring at midnight. Do the Star Wars Special Editions count? I caught those at midnight, too.

6) Agreed, Dannie. I'd like to hear the final verdict! Sorry, Sarah S., that your week was so bad that you had to bail on your tickets and midnight showing!!

9) It was good. It definitely stayed true to the spirit of the book. But with all book to movie adaptations, there are huge differences. It ends the same way the book does (of course), so it is definitely open for a sequel. I would say if you have not read the book, it is still a good movie, but be prepared to not have a nice wrapped up story, it is open ended.

12) There are definitely some huge differences. Not so much in story line, but in scenes and execution. But it is not half bad.

13) What about the other half?

14) Logically, if it is not half bad then it could be anything other than half bad. So it could be one quarter bad or even .49 (recurring) bad. But does that necessarily mean the rest is good? That would presume that things are only good or bad and that there are no gray areas in between.

15) It's a figure of speech guys. I just mean to convey, I liked it, but it could have been a little bit better.

16) I know. When someone makes a facetious or cynical remark I like to go along with it and explore thoughts and possibilities. It can be fun sometimes.

17) OK - I have to agree - not half-bad - some parts could have been better and a few things were not as they should have been but they had to condense alot - the best thing I can definately say is Edward sparkles - oh does he sparkle

18) He does indeed! I think one thing they got right was casting. It was perfect.

19) Glad to hear they casted well. That can be crucial. Sorry the story didn't hold up as well but hopefully they got most of it right and didn't leave gaps that most folks get confused since they take out too much--like an abridged book. Sounds like I can wait for the DVD.

20) K8, I'm really jealous. My tickets went to waste. I even had a student saving a seat for my friend and me. It was just such a long week. I got through it...Thursday night being my last major activity, and I crashed. All the adrenaline I was living on was gone. I will get to see that movie, for sure.
